Yes, Clear Comfort’s AOP pool and spa systems are compatible with all major filters, pumps, heaters, chemical feeders, chemical systems and more.
No, the Clear Comfort system can be used in a variety of different climates. 
Unlike traditional treatment methods, Clear Comfort air-injects its sanitizer into your pool plumbing. The tiny bubbles are indications that the non-toxic hydroxyl radicals have oxidized unwanted contaminants in your pool plumbing, so you can enjoy the best water and air quality possible.  Take a look at our video to see these bubbles on real-life Clear Comfort pools and spas. Please note: Bubble sizes can vary on different types of pool plumbing.

Water Care #

By reducing chemical handling, Clear Comfort will simplify your regular pool and/or spa maintenance. The only system maintenance required with Clear Comfort is an annual 5-minute cartridge exchange and standard weekly chemical balancing.

Yes. Shocking your pool is a common pool practice necessary to achieve maximum oxidation potential and maintain healthy pool water. 
The Clear Comfort system can help you address and eliminate biofilm. For added protection against biofilm, we recommend purge products, superchlorination and scrub-brushing to eradicate it.
While the Clear Comfort system does not use or produce traditional pool chemicals, we do recommend balancing your pool water by the fundamental industry standards. Maintaining proper chemistry levels will help protect your swimming pool vessel and allow any and all types of sanitizers, disinfectants and oxidizers to be effective.

No, the Clear Comfort system does not affect pH in the pool water. pH levels can rise from water features that are exposed to the ambient air, deck sprays, water falls, sheer descents, bubblers, etc.

Stringy particles on top of the pool water can be caused by biguanides which we do not recommend using. AOP is not compatible with Polyhexamethylene Biguanide (PHMB).

Set Up & Installation #

Installing your Clear Comfort system is a simple process that can be performed by any professional. This process can be performed in 1 hour or less on most pools.  If you have any installation questions or need help finding a local installer, please reach out to our dedicated Customer Success team:
For proper airflow, we recommend using a variable speed pump and setting it between 2200 – 2400 RPM and running the Clear Comfort system 24/7 for constant disinfection. If you’re using a DE Filter, let it rest for 1 hour every day.
Your Air Flow Meter will help you set up the required litres per minute (LPM) to your Clear Comfort system. Please keep your included Air Flow Meter with your Clear Comfort system.  For step-by-step instructions on how to use your Air Flow Meter, please watch our video here. 

Troubleshooting #

Clear Comfort’s residential systems come equipped with LED indicator lights to help you know if your system is operating properly.  Light Functionality: 
  • Green Light
    • System is on and operating properly. 
  • Yellow Light
    • Cartridge Unit has reached 80% of its life expectancy (8,000 hours) and it’s time to purchase a replacement cartridge. 
    • To exchange your Cartridge Unit, please visit: clearcomfort.com/cartridge 
  • Red Light
    • The Cartridge Unit has reached its life expectancy and needs to be replaced. 
  • Blue Light
    • Operation light that should always be illuminated.

Have questions? We’re happy to help! Here are answers to our most frequently asked questions about the Clear Comfort Factory-New Cartridge Exchange, Sustainable Cartridge Exchange and Core Deposit.

1. It’s Good For Your Water Quality 
So your Clear Comfort system can keep providing the best water quality possible, your cartridge must be exchanged each year (or after 10,000 hours of use). No other system maintenance is required.

2. It’s Good For Our Planet
Designed with sustainability in mind, Clear Comfort cartridges use reusable, strong and durable aluminum, which helps your system last the lifetime of your pool or spa. The result is a lighter environmental footprint and less waste in landfills.

When your old cartridge is sent back, Clear Comfort recycles and repurposes it to create a refreshed cartridge exchange with the same performance and durability of your original system.

3. It’s Good For You
Additionally, by using materials that can be used to build new cartridges, Clear Comfort is able to keep consumable costs down and more affordable to achieve the best, healthiest and easiest pool water. A win-win for you and the planet

When your CCW100 or CCW50 AOP system’s Cartridge Status LED Light illuminates:
  • Yellow Light: Cartridge is about to expire and it’s time to purchase a replacement. 
  • Red Light: Cartridge has expired and needs to be replaced immediately.

Both options reflect our dedication to quality, performance and customer satisfaction, allowing you to choose the Cartridge that best aligns with your preferences.

Our Factory-New Cartridge Exchange option is perfect for those seeking a flawless look without any prior ownership. Factory-New Cartridges are made brand new, without compromising quality or performance. The Factory-New Cartridge option does not come with a $100 Code Deposit. Each Factory-New Cartridge includes an optional pre-paid label, giving you the option to return your old Cartridge for recycling at your convenience.

Our Sustainable Cartridge Exchange option helps you save money and the environment. Sustainable Cartridges are made from high-quality materials repurposed from other Cartridges, without compromising on quality or performance.

To support our environmental commitment, each Sustainable Cartridge includes a refundable $100 Core Deposit at the time of purchase. When your new Sustainable Cartridge order is delivered, please return your old Cartridge for recycling using included the box and pre-paid label within 180 days of receiving it. After returning, you’ll get your Core Deposit refunded.

If you ordered a Sustainable Cartridge Exchange, you have 180 days after your new Cartridge is delivered to return the old Cartridge and get your Core Deposit refund. 

If you ordered a Factory-New Cartridge Exchange, you have the option to return your old Cartridge at your convenience.

It’s easy to exchange your Sustainable Cartridge and get your Core Deposit back, and here’s how:
  1. When your CCW100 or CCW50 AOP system’s Cartridge LED Light illuminates a:
    • Yellow Light: Your Cartridge will expire soon and it’s time to order a replacement. 
    • Red Light: Your cartridge is expired and must be replaced immediately. 
  2. Your refundable $100 Core Deposit is paid at the time of purchasing a Sustainable Cartridge.
  3. When your new Sustainable Cartridge is delivered, within 180 days please:
    1. Save the pre-paid label and packaging included with your new Cartridge
    2. Install your new Cartridge, following our instructions
    3. Put your old Cartridge in the included packaging your new Cartridge arrived in
    4. Use the included prepaid label to ship your old Cartridge back to Clear Comfort for recycling within 180 days
  4. When Clear Comfort receives your old Cartridge, the Core Deposit purchaser will be refunded within 15 – 45 days. If you purchased through a Clear Comfort dealer, the Core Deposit will be sent to them. 
  5. Clear Comfort recycles and repurposes your old cartridge to create a new one, which lessens your home’s environmental footprint. 

Your Sustainable Cartridge Core Deposit will be refunded when you send your old Cartridge back with the pre-paid label and packaging included with your new one within 180 days of receiving it.

When Clear Comfort receives your old Cartridge, the Core Deposit purchaser will be refunded within 15 – 45 days. 

Here’s how Clear Comfort refunds the person or company that ordered the new Sustainable Cartridge:

  • If you ordered online, your original form of payment will be refunded
  • If you ordered over the phone, your refund will be mailed by check
It is at the dealer’s discretion whether they charge their customer the Sustainable Cartridge Core Deposit or if they take responsibility for collecting the old Cartridge(s) for a Core Deposit refund. If you are purchasing through a dealer, the simplest way to exchange your cartridge is by visiting your dealer’s store or location to swap your old cartridge for a new cartridge. If you are purchasing through a service company, you can do the same swap on site. If your cartridge was ordered from your dealer, please contact them for additional details.

Expedited Cartridge Exchange FAQs #

Have questions? We’re happy to help! Here are answers to our most frequently asked questions about the Expedited Cartridge Exchange.

With our Expedited Cartridge Exchange offering, you can send your spent cartridge to us and we will replenish it and return it to you within 10 business days of receiving it at our processing center. Expedited Cartridge Exchange orders include a $50 fee for an expedited refurbishment of your spent cartridge. With Expedited Cartridge Exchanges there is no core charge to be refunded or tracked. 

Expedited Cartridge Exchanges  are only available for CCW100 and CCW50 AOP systems.

Please Note: Expedited Cartridge Exchanges do not include a $50 “Core Charge” deposit.

Getting your Expedited Cartridge Exchange is easy: 
  1. When your Clear Comfort system’s Cartridge Status LED Light illuminates a:
    • Yellow Light: Your cartridge will expire soon and it’s time to order a replacement. 
    • Red Light: Your cartridge is expired and must be replaced immediately. 
  2. Your $50 Expedited Cartridge Exchange fee is paid at time of purchase.
  3. Once your replacement cartridge order is placed, you’ll receive an email with instructions to return your spent cartridge. Remember, the sooner you send it the sooner you get it back. You can select the carrier of your choice and the speed of shipment you prefer. 
  4. Send your spent cartridge to Clear Comfort with your replacement cartridge order number for reference:

  5. Once Clear Comfort receives your spent cartridge, it will be replenished and shipped to you within 10 business days. By exchanging your spent cartridge with Clear Comfort, you are lessening your home’s environmental footprint. 

Once Clear Comfort receives your spent cartridge, it will be recycled and refurbished and shipped to you within 10 business days. The return shipping costs are paid at the time of placing your replacement cartridge order. 

We recommend packaging and sending your spent cartridge back to Clear Comfort within 1 to 7 calendar days of ordering your replacement cartridge. 

It is at the dealer’s discretion whether they charge their customer the Expedited Cartridge Exchange fee or if they take responsibility to collect the spent cartridge to return it to Clear Comfort.

If you are purchasing through a dealer, the simplest way to exchange your cartridge is by visiting your dealer’s store or location to swap your spent cartridge for a replacement cartridge. If you are purchasing through a service company, you can do the same swap on site.
