There’s a misconception that good business practices aren’t good for the earth – but Certified B Corporations are proving this wrong.
According to research findings from 2017, 44 B Corp environmentally conscious businesses in the United Kingdom grew 28 times faster than the national economic average.
What is a B Corp certification?
B Corps are for-profit corporations certified by nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. B Lap measures a company’s impact on all of its stakeholders: workers, suppliers, community, customers and the environment.
Notable certified B Corporations include Ben and Jerry’s, New Belgium Brewing Co. and Patagonia that strive to operate sustainably and with social benefit in mind. When Certified B Corps sign The B Corp Declaration of Interdependence it’s because they believe business should be the change in the world, ought to conduct business with people and place in mind and that no harm shall be made with their products. This reinforces accountability and understanding that of responsibility for ourselves and future generations.
How did we earn our B Corp Certification?
Clear Comfort is dedicated to offering the cleanest, healthiest water for a safer and more sustainable pool and spa system. Clear Comfort’s and low-chlorine systems reduce chemical handling and exposure, storage and distribution into the ecosystem.
Clear Comfort is committed to the environment and community by manufacturing all products within the U.S., working with local vendors, offering generous employee compensation packages, supporting volunteering and making financial contributions to local nonprofits.
“Clear Comfort is setting a higher standard through its demonstrated commitment to the community and the environment,” said Kim Coupounas, B Lab’s Colorado Director. “As a member of the Certified B Corp community, Clear Comfort is leading their industry in using business as a force for good.”
Additionally, Clear Comfort’s journey with B Corp doesn’t end at certification – but it was the beginning of a longstanding promise. Maintaining a B Corp certification requires vigorous checks and balances to assure that Clear Comfort’s impact on its community, employees, customers and the environment are positive. Each assessment is an opportunity for continuous improvement.
Why should you support B Corp Products?
