With winter right around the corner, you may be wondering how to assure that your pool business will stay afloat during the slower off-season months.
Even with the busy season coming to an end, there are still many opportunities to grow your business and make the most of the possibilities that fall and winter present. Whether you are a retailer, service provider or builder, here are five ways your pool or spa business can take advantage of the colder seasons.
1. Spas & indoor pools
Even though fewer people may be swimming outdoors in the winter months, many people still enjoy spas and indoor pools during this time. The cold weather is a great time for selling portable and in-ground spas and spa services, as well as heated indoor pools.
2. Holiday pool toys & decorations
The holiday season is a perfect time to offer pool and spa-related gift ideas and decorations, such as games, pool accessories, LED lights, etc. Setting up holiday decorations in your store might attract customers looking for unique gift ideas and ornaments.
3. Pool technologies
The winter is a great opportunity to find and sell new modern pool technologies that are gaining popularity, such as electronic water chemistry monitors, Advanced Oxidation (AOP) sanitation systems or automatic pool cleaners. The off-season is ideal for building pools since it is less busy and the turnaround can be quicker, which poses a great time to offer new pool technologies to customers.
4. Discounts & giveaways
Offering discounts, coupons and free gifts is a great way to attract business when things get slow. In addition, holiday cards, special coupons and small gifts are great ways to give back to customers and leave them with a positive impression that they will remember in the spring and summer.
When business slows down you may have more time on your hands to take care of things that you may have put off, such as updating your website, collecting customer data, interacting with customers directly on social media, etc.
