Commercial pools have to keep up with swimming lessons, competitions and other activities, and too often only rely on chlorine to disinfect the water. Despite popular belief, neither chlorine or saltwater systems alone can completely disinfect pool water, and these systems can result dangerously for swimmers and staff health.
The Problem:
Chlorine doesn’t protect against some common recreational water illnesses, including the parasite Cryptosporidium parvum. In addition, chlorine sanitation can produce chloramines, the disinfection byproduct of chlorine reacting to organic material like sweat, skin oils or urea. Chloramines can cause eye irritation, allergies, asthma and other respiratory issues.
The Solution:
