Over the past four years, Clear Comfort has rapidly grown from a concept to a company that helps – everyone from hot tub owners to water park operators – achieve the best water quality.
To celebrate our four years in business, we want to share our company’s story and mission.
Our Story
Clear Comfort launched in 2014 as a small startup. Our co-founders, Steve Berens and Nick Rancis took a proven industrial water treatment technology and adapted it give pool owners and operators with a healthier, more sustainable and easier way to treat pools and spas. With Clear Comfort’s hydroxyl-based advanced oxidation technology, residential pools can have less chlorine than drinking water levels and commercial pools can reduce chlorine use up to 50 percent.
Later in 2014, Clear Comfort went on to win the Colorado Cleantech Industries Association Breakout Company of the Year and received a Colorado Office of Economic Development Advanced Industries grant at Denver Startup Week.
Clear Comfort quickly expanded in 2015 and installed systems on pools nationwide that included: homeowners, universities, resorts, municipal pools, YMCAs, hotels and more. Additionally, in 2015 we received third-party testing results that verified Clear Comfort’s technology’s success in chlorine reduction, disinfection byproduct removal and Cryptosporidium destruction in commercial pools.
In late 2016, we released the third generation of our most popular pool system with a sleeker look and an improved design that reduces maintenance and installation time. Additionally, we earned our B Corporation certification, recognizing Clear Comfort’s commitment to high standards of social and environmental responsibility.
In 2017, Clear Comfort’s technology was awarded a Top 50 Pool, Spa Product by Pool and Spa News and a top 25 Most Valuable Product by Aquatics International.
Today in 2018, Clear Comfort continues to grow and set the higher standard for healthy, sustainable and quality pool and spa treatment.
